Forfeits/Game Time

We ask that you please not forfeit. It’s no fun to play with or against half a team. Games do start IMMEDIATELY on time. Thus, we strongly suggest arriving 20-30 minutes early to stretch, warm-up, change, etc.

  • A forfeit may be called if
    • fewer than 3 roster players are available for game at any point
    • cheating occurs
    • a non-roster player is added without informing the referee
  • 1st forfeit will result in an automatic loss
  • 2nd forfeit will result in a ban from future league participation for up to 1 year.
  • Teams that know in advance that they will forfeit a match must inform the league by 12 noon on game day. Failure to do so will result in an automatic ban from future league participation for up to 1 year. WE DO THIS SO THAT WE HAVE TIME TO CONTACT THE OTHER TEAM- please get in contact!
  • If you are still unsure of attendance by teammates by 12 noon, you should still try to contact us so that we can try to contact the other team. If we can reach them the game will only be recorded as a forfeit and no further action will be taken (unless your team forfeits more than two times).

Fouls and Cards

The following are fouls and will result in a restart and potentially a card(s):

A yellow card is NEVER required. If the referee deems a play/action too dangerous, aggressive, or recurring she/he/they may give a direct red card.

  • Contact with or obstruction of the goal keeper.
  • Intentional kick, trip, jump at, strike, hold, push, charge at another player, checking, hacking, intentional use of body to pin another player against the wall.
  • Swearing, gesturing, or arguing with/at the referee, any player, any visitor, and/or any staff member.
  • Handballs
  • Dangerous play:
    • Kicking while player is on the ground or above the waste when an opposing player is deemed to be too close (DON’T BLAST THE BALL WHEN YOU’RE NEAR THE KEEPER)
    • Leaning on the wall
    • Playing from the ground
    • Heading the ball (due to the height of the ball allowed for play, heading puts players at risk of getting kicked in the head).
  • Two yellow cards will automatically result in a red card
  • If a player receives a red card for any reason, she/he/they must exit the court immediately and not re-enter for the rest of the match.
  • A player with a red card cannot play in the following match.
  • A player with 2 red cards will be banned for the remainder of the season
